Line Editing

I’ll take what you’ve written and perfect your style. The writing stays yours, and it’s my job to go line by line and change structure, phrasing, word choice, flow, and remove any technical errors.

This is for books, memoirs, talks, chicken scratch, you name it — so long as you’d consider it a complete work of writing. I’m happy to work from a voice recording as well.

The end result is writing that more authentically represents what you wanted to say in the first place, with a more effective communication style.

Copywriting

Copywriting involves the same skill set as line editing, except that I do the writing for you. I take your vision and actualize it, writing with the tone, structure, word choice, and technical precision that you need to reach your audience.

I’ll work on your website, create marketing copy for advertisements, or write blog posts for you. As always, I put form to your inspiration rather than follow my own pet ideas.

Proofreading

Need a final pass of something that’s basically ready to print? I read through and check for all errors so that everything is coherent, consistent, grammatically sound, typographically appealing, formatted correctly, and cited properly.

This can happen in a Word document or similar format, in which case I’ll make direct changes, or it can happen in a PDF, in which case I’ll leave comments.
